How does one activate voice coms?

The only thing I see in the controls option menu is a mute mic button and a 'quick comms' button.

Just thought it would be cool to check out this feature.

Just above (or below?) the quick comms binding line at Controls you ll see another comms related line.

Quick comms is for text chat. When you activate it it will open a text chat to whomever you have selected as target.

The other one is for voice. When you activate it you ll see a full contact menu popping up where you can select anyone in your local system for voice comms.

Map them both to different keys and have a play around.

I hailed several commanders yesterday for voice comms. I could actually hear the "ringing tone" of my call. But no one answered... maybe too shy or unable to push the right button?

In the main control bindings you can bind keys to Comms Panel and Quick Comms.

Comms Panel will bring up the comms selector where you can pick who near you you want to talk to and at the bottom your friends will be listed.

Quick Comms will bring up a text input box to send the targeted person a text message.

Hope that helps. But it sounds like the comms system is currently having some issues.
