Voice to Txt when wearing HMD

There is a voice to txt method I used some time ago. There was a post on here about it but it was about 2 years ago.

I used WiFi mouse on an android device (from google store), downloaded companion app on my computer (https://wifimouse.nec). I started the app on phone and computer, selected keyboard on phone then selected mic input, any spoken words then appears in what ever window you had selected on the computer.

Just re downloaded and tried it, it still works. When you have the txt input window open in ED any spoken words then appear in the txt box ready for transmission.

I am using it to type this sentence it works very well if not a bit slow. I hope you find this useful I find that I can speak a bit faster without it missing words but I will have to try it whilst in the Rift full stop oops

Voice attack can do this too, might be something definitely worth looking into if you do not already use it.

I tried this some years ago, but now having the debugscreen always available, I just lift up the headset. I never did a conversation on the ED CHat, just for the galaxymap.

I've never had much joy with Voice Attack's Dictation Mode, even after lots and lotd of voice recognition training.

My advice to you is to just set up some stock phrases using voice attack. The ones I tend to use most are "I'm an Idiot!", "Sorry about that!", and "<sigh>"... <sigh>
