VoiceAttack and TrackIR

I'm intrigued by VoiceAttack, though I'm not sure I'd like it because I boom it out over 5.1 and don't regularly use headphones.
Anyway, I use TrackIR and one of the things that doesn't work is pressing the keys to look at the left/right hologram menus. So I couldn't define a macro to say lock onto a contact and request docking on the left panel, or perhaps turn off certain systems on the right panel. So does anyone know of a way around this when TrackIR is in use?

Sorry for not being able to provide more information - I don't use VA because I have my 5.1 system running quite loudly, listening to music whilst flying, and sometimes singing along at the same time, so I didn't follow it.

You have to pause TrackIR in order to be able to use the hot keys for the side panels. It takes a second or two for ED to detect that TrackIR is paused, though.
