Im trying to set up Voice attack to work in Vive VR to execute Elite Dangerous Horizon in VR. That way I can start SteamVR put the helmet on and use voice to execute game and therefore not having to touch keyboard. Im not sure which executable to use and/or parameter. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I am using Windows 10 and SteamBeta and steamBetaVR and newest VoiceAttack.

hi. i just started using voice attack too. it all seems confusing at first, but once you understand it clicks. I know that is not very helpful. it would take to long to go step by step with you; when there are good tutorials that explain it better than i can. my suggestion would be to watch the tutorial from voice attack and and some specific youtube videos related to voice attack, and elite dangerous tutorial. Also remember to set up your windows speech recognition first; by training it to recognize your voice and pronunciation. do the voice training part several times so windows will understand you better. Once you trained windows you will set up voice attack. the tutorial will help you go step by step.
it also helps to have(for me at least) to have elite running so you can test it. fyi depending on what mic you are using pc mic or headphone setup. do not forget to go to go to settings when steam vr is running. on the desktop steam vr window not the settings tab in when you have your vr(headset on). in settings go to audio and make sure your mic and audio is the same to what you are using. When you start voice attack make sure to run it as administrator. there will be tweaking so be patient. voice attack makes it so much better. next up; voice packs(well at least for me)! Just state your command with Voice Attack running.
To create your command: edit your profile, create new command, and under "other" choose "run windows application". Then point it at E

lolOk. I missunderstood the question. Starting elite with voice attack while in steam. My apologies .
So if i understand you correctly Jerrylove. you would have to make a different profile for steam. Including access to view desktop so you can then change voice attack profile back to Elite. So that includes 3 different profiles. 1 for steam to start elite and to access desktop? 1 for windows to start voice attack? 1 for voice attack to switch profiles, or would you have to use windows speech recognition to use windows?
I just use vive controller to start elite and then turn off the controller and use hottas and voice attack for the game. I do not use the keyboard after that except when i use the escape key to get out of the text input part to navigate in comms (still have not figured out on how to bind that one command yet).
I can understand wanting the ability to use this this instead of the controller it would seem easier and less time consuming, but setting up would be more in depth. well at least for me. I hope Eagleeye can get it to work. good luck and sorry for any confusion and redundancy i caused.

OK. So we are looking at a third scenerio. You are in Steam and you want to click on a single thing to run Voice Attack and Elite?
I'm not sure of a good way to do that. You could write a batch file to launch both and then put the batch in Steam. That would work, but it won't look pretty.
I assumed you were sitting at your desktop with VA running and looking for a way to run Elite from a voice command. So that's what I gave you.
I recommend 1 profile for each game you play. If you have several, you can setup a "profile switching profile"; such that there's a command in every other profile to go back to the switching profile, and commands in the switching profile to go to every other one. I would not make a profile for steam. I cannot imagine what commands you would put in it.
yes, i did not understand the original queston[ugh] so i was just trying to clarify for eagleeye. I did not want to cause any confusion, since i replied a different answer than what was asked(which can be frustrating). I also wanted to understand the queston. For myself I am satisfied with just using the vive controller to access elite in steam vr. It would seem it would take more time to do this with voice attack switching profiles to achieve those results. I think the vive controller is faster. I could be wrong though? either way i hoping the original poster can make it work.
