Voices to fill the void!

Just saw this video on youtube (kudos to Vindicator Jones) and could not help but share it here....

What do you think? I think it would add tons of atmosphere to navigation inside the human bubble.

Voiced NPC chatter? Yay or nay? What do you think?

Not with Text to Speech. It sounds extremely artificial and stilted, like an universe filled with Siris.

I like it. If they get say the community to submit the chatter, it could be enough to prevent constant repeats.

The recording could use more of the Wing Comm distortion, buzz, pop and click effect, but you would expect the Station to be much clearer like the test example.

That was awesome!

We may not need THAT much chatter, but more voice-overs for messages that are generally just sent through the text comms would be nice. When they scan your ship, when you enter a no-fire zone, warning about speed etc. when granted docking permission, etc.

Given that I can seldom understand the announcer in the station, I'm 100% OK with artificial and stilted, provided that it actually matches the activity going on around me.

For example, hearing the station grant landing clearance to a different pilot when I'm the only one around the station would be very disappointing. Same for generic messages that don't specify who the intended recipient is...
