Will be this and nothing more I would suspect., I wouldn't even expect liquid nitrogen. There is no way they would have kept full volcanism under wraps at gamescom if it were ready for 2.2.

Unfortunately I'm afraid S3 will consists mainly of walking around.
First our ships, then maybe stations and planets in the end.
I don't think it will be atmospheric planets, and frankly I can't think of anything else big enough to justify a Season.
(Except maybe building bookshelves in every black hole)
I still think it will be lots of things. In fact I expect the Season 3 to consist more of a "lots of smaller things" rather than one big "feature".
I remember reading a thread a while back where someone pointed out S3 would actually be based around atmospheric planets according to a road map he read.
