Horizons Volcanos

Do they actually exist on landable planets in the game yet?

If so, how do you find them?

I am grinding for Polonium 1%/100% on a 100% metal landable planet with iron magma volcanoes and the description says that things should be more prevalent at old volcanoes and active ones. So, I am looking for a volcano.

I think I found some.. >>>> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1IHWujJ6AorHbv_MqOXS_WquD_SsPuCsq << and a lot of really stupid things.

I also think it might have been worth it. Dropping at least one Polonium every 5-6 outcrops and only finding outcrops. Sometimes 3 within visible range at the same time.

Among vulcanism hunters there's technical term for what you found there.....it's called a rock.

There's a thread dedicated to vulcanism with a link to location of many sites, although it's not 100% accurate since about 30% vanished when 3.0 dropped, however seeing 15 or 20 mineral deposits in range on a volcanic site is not unusual. You will know it when you see it, it will look something like this.

Many smoking rock piles or even chimneys, lots of discoloured ground, mineral deposits everywhere,. The ratio of rare materials on a volcanic site will usually be much higher than general rock hunting, it's not unusual to get 15+ Polonium from a good site.

Many pictures and guides available here;

I found a planet out who knows where, liked the very diverse coloration, decided to hunt for vulcanism, but was surprised to find no real caldera-type formations, though there were plenty of mountains with the shield-volcano profile (Mt. Fuji being the classic exemplar). I did many low-level fly-bys of all these cones, found zero fumaroles or vents of any sort. Few showed what would be a definitive collapse-style peak like Mt St. Helens, either. Mineral collection was unremarkable. On a world that closely resembles Io I figured to see more activity. So it goes.

I have concluded that what I found is indeed a very old, dead volcano.. Many many outcrops that drop above average numbers of items, many many automated mining extractors. I have found several of these formations.
