VR driving sim - european maps

Oops - not entirely ED related but completely VR

I've got to drive on the continent soon - Mrs Caspar has plans involving Euro Disney and then the south of France. I've never driven on the continent so not looking forward to it.

Then I thought, rather than hurl myself on to the French tarmac and cause calamity, perhaps there's a game with VR support that simulates driving on the French roads. Then I can spend hours in VR getting all the practice I need.

I'm aware of Euro truck simulator but would prefer to be driving a car. Any thoughts? Does something like this exist?

Only driving games with VR support that I know of are ETS2, PCars and Assetto Corsa. Your only choice when it comes to driving around real life is ETS2, there are mods which add cars. You can cheat yourself some money and buy the modded cars if you're willing to deal with the hassle. Use oculus_06 for ets2.

Project Cars is trash and Assetto Corsa is in early development for the Rift still. FYI

I am an US citizen , but have lived in Japan for a couple years.

Being as it will be your first time driving on the opposite side of the road, the biggest hurdle that a lot of people forget is you are now also in the right seat.. you have several feet/meters of car to your left now, you still need to place the car in the center of the lane. People tend to drift to what they are used to.

Driving really is no issue, U belive that europe has a lot more roundabouts, but if you go though an intersection, make sure you go into the correct lane on whatever road you are turning onto.



If you really want a driving sim, maybe Euro Truck Simulator 2... it has Rift support, I have it on Steam and you have to go into its beta settings to enable it. it should get you used to the road situation

Talking to a friendof mine that lives in the Nederlands, on their trips into France, the red octogon is still in a phase in Euro wide, ( some areas are slow to adopt) but will say ARRÊT, but you might see these too except "ARRÊT" of course:

Presumably this only works on the new SDK? I have held of trying is as am stuck with SDK 5 due to elite. I can't wait tho. The new ets2 build on the new SDK sounds great.
