General / Off-Topic VR Fraud Planet Coaster

Hello Frontier, I just thought you should know a company running "VR" kiosks in a mall in Raleigh NC (in the US) where they have whats to at least be a video capture of planet coaster. It looks to be an on ride cam of one basic coasters. I couldn't see everything I couldn't tell if they had the game actually running or if it was a YouTube video or screen recording. They wanted 10 dollars for me to even ride it. I didn't want to give them a penny.

This probably belongs in the off topic , but I wanted to make sure Frontier actually saw this.

Didn't get a company name but it was in the Crab Tree Valley mall. I don't like scam artists -- and to me this screams scam.

Where are your pictures of the kiosk? Or any evidence of a scam?

A "scam" would be if you paid $10, then got nothing in return.

Sounds like someone spent time making a 360 youtube video of a coaster ride, and charges $10 for people to view it at the mall with the equipment they set up there in the kiosk. What is the problem? People put advertising on youtube videos of games, is that a scam too?

Youtube is filled with overhyped clickbait and desperate pleas for likes and subs due to channel monetisation. This sounds simply like a manifestation of that in the real world, only difference is you are paying the content creator instead of Google/advertisers.

I just thought it was illegal if the company was using the actual source code somehow in the ride -- it could fall under fair use as would a normal youtube video if its just a video. Which does make the most since. Still think its a rip-off.

And if they are using it illegally I thought frontier should know.

They didnt let me take photos unless I was in the ride... (meaning I paid the fee to ride it -- i wasnt doing that)

Maybe it was NoLimits, like someone else just posted in Off topic.

Even if it was planet coaster, apparently there is a way to make 360 videos just with the normal game, and stitching together the screen grab video somehow. I don't know how, just saw the Aliens park guy do it.... https://youtu.be/I1lsB5xxxLg
