VR from Epic Games

How do I launch Elite Dangerous in VR from the Epic Games app?
Using HP Reverb G2 (WMR).

I see the three dots below the Elite image, which opens a menu which includes 'Launch in VR', I click it and Elite launches, but not in VR.

I take it you’ve the necessary software to run your headset - if you have then make sure you’ve gone into Elite’s graphics options while in flatscreen and selected “HMD headphones” in the 3D menu, then restart the game.

Ninja-ed :)
If you have a correctly configured VR, you can switch it off in VR by changing the 3D settings from HMD headphones/speakers. Can you check to see what this is set to?

I don't know, what software would that be? I have Windows Mixed Reality portal installed and working.
I don't have an option for HMD headphones in the 3D menu, jus off or anaglyph or side by side, and 3D separation and 3D focal distance.
I just get the WMR home through the HMD, while Elite runs on the flatscreen.

You will need to install Steam.

Once installed, install Steam VR and SteamVR for Windows Mixed Reality.

Windows Mixed Reality and SteamVR for Windows Mixed Reality must be running in order for Elite to see the G2.

By necessary software I meant you can see stuff while using it 😁 which sound like it’s the case.

Sorry for my slightly duff info, looks like HeavyGroovez has the extra steps required for you.

That was it, thanks.

Now I've just got to figure out how to control the damn thing :)
Do you use the VR controllers, the keyboard, or joystick?

Elite doesn't work with the VR controllers (by default, there might be extra software that can help). You can then choose from Keyboard+Mouse, Joystick aka HOTAS, or XBox Controller, or some combinations (I've seen someone who files by HOTAS and drives by XBox controller).
Oh, and don't forget pedals.

The Controls settings are very in depth, but when you get started that is not that important. Just pick one device, and get a default set of control mappings, you can change it at any time as you discover more and more things you need to map.
