A few friends and myself are working on a VR Lasertag title for OpenVR devices (Vive etc.) and I thought I'd show off some very early ingame shots:
Note that the weapon is just a placeholder, we have our own models of course. I'm particularly fond of the battlefield which, combined with the 80's styled music gives a very Tron-esque vibe, complete with music-driven effects:
We also have quite a talented modeler who came up with a really awesome avatar design for VR:
For the technically inclined, yes this is done in Unity. We are using our own matchmaking system as well as NAT traversal to make sure you don't have to forward any ports on your router to be able to host a round.
Most importantly the game is already a lot of fun to play. We have a movement system that I think you'll like, and the whole objective is to make this a very quick and easy game to pick up and play. We hope to get this onto Steam as well as other digital stores for a very reasonable price, but it's not ready for that yet.
