vr or not vr?

Hi all.

A while back, I installed Elite Dangerous and played it on my computer (PC).
Later on, I bought the Oculus Rift and it works on that.
I don't want to always play with the Oculus Rift, but every time I start Elite Dangerous, it boots up in Oculus vr and I have to put the vr goggles on to play the game.
I was wondering if anybody else has or has had this and how (if any) it can be sorted?
Hope this all makes sense. cheers.

Personally I prefer ED in VR... But that wasn't your question.

There a couple of things you can do. Use Dr. Kaii's EDProfiler tool. This allows you to choose how to start up the game, settings wise.

Otherwise, once the game starts, go into Options > Graphics and set the 3D setting to off, then once you apply that you will be back in screen mode (so you'll need to take the rift off). Change any other graphics settings you want and away you go.

Hope that helps.

I always use the "Oculus client" on my PC monitor to launch Elite. Go into "Library" and click on the 3 dots next to Elite: Dangerous. Choose to start in either VR or desktop mode. After launching in desktop, I always have to choose 1080P and full screen, but other than that, it works just like my pre-VR days.

Does this answer your question?
