VR settings for Quest 3 with RTX 4090

Hi folks,

since the recent update removed some bugs, I wanted to give VR another try. Now I am stuck with 72 Hz no matter what I chose:

And thats the result ingame with HMD 1.0 and Supersampling 1.0 - which seem to be a mediocre result:

Am I correct, when I assume that performance headroom should be 100%?

With Virtual Desktop and many games on the Quest itself, if you enable battery saver it defaults to 72Hz. Don't know if that's applicable/helpful in your case or at all but thought I'd mention it anyway for future searches from others.

Energy saver was not enabled. It was the recent patch. I found with some searching on Meta's site many requests and then people came with my mentioned workaround.

Anecdotally, the Quest 3 UI and settings I can see here look similar to my Pico 4U GUI, right down to the colour scheme and window decorations. Also, the perf overlay looks exactly the same as mine. I know they have the exact same SoC with the Broadcom Snapdragon XR2 but I didn't think the software GUI would be the same. P4U also drops to 72Hz in battery saver mode.

Du you have some recommendations on ingame and Oculus Debug Tool settings?

Any chance you've noticed some weird framerate issues with Odyssey and terrain generation in the last week or so? Everything look like it should be good, my 4090 is barely at 40% utilization, only 1/3 of VRAM is being used, and CPU looks fine yet headroom is crap and I am getting significant frame drops. Haven't touched anything and in fact I am on lower rendering settings. Kind of weird.

I still need to test. But the last time I had the same experience. CPU/GPU, RAM and VRAM have got still a lot reserves. But headroom dropped really to the bottom / dark red.
