VR update 2.1.03

----------------------from the patch notes 2.1.03----------------

VR

- Only control input focus through HMDs if they are rendering (don't affect regular mono modes)
- Fix for the VR camera flicker in supercruise transitions
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What does that mean?

...and did it change something for you.

I can't believe they actually fixed it!!

I noticed this A LOT- I'm pleased it's sorted. When starting or ending supercruise, there were almost always weird renders of stations or other objects for a few frames before a normal view flicked back. I hate the term "it broke my immersion" but it certainly didn't help! :p

I didn't notice the camera flicker and what the other thing means I don't know.

I notice no difference, I only got 50 million credits with this update.... [???]

Why the surprise? It's what they do, regularly.

Honestly, people whine about the Devs, but IMHO they are among the most responsive and professional group I've ever dealt with. GTA 5 players has to wait months for a bug fix to correct several game breaking bugs. Then there's Ubisoft, EA, and a half dozen others, don't even get me started.

The amount of bugs the devs squash is amazing. Their turnaround time (especially during Beta's) is staggeringly fast and I'm very happy to support the devs and the company.

They're both flipping amazing especially when compared to other entities.

Maybe because its been there since Alpha? and it was only fixed because of my (and others) persistence to get them to fix it via repeated bug reports.

That is true- every since I've been using VR in the game, this frame flickering problem has been the case. I guess it wasn't a priority, and to be fair it wasn't especially, but it's great FD have done it because it was a bit jolting for the user, whilst the game otherwise has VR pretty much nailed in an overarching sense.

That's what bug reports are for.

They spent months, if not years, working on a solution, you might want to say thanks instead of harumphing about the time it took.

And people wonder why they went quiet.

Get off your high horse. My response was manifested from surprise and excitement because of how long its been and how many bug reports I have personally submitted. I was also partly responsible for convincing a support guy to escalate the issue so I was even expecting the fix because he told me it was coming.

But maybe you just want go around reading into things and making assumptions.

I'm glad they fixed the flickering when going in and out of supercruise.

It seems to me that shadows (when set to low or medium) are flickering now, however. Also landable planets still fail to render at the sides of the screen when outside orbital cruise range.

Yup I notice this a lot. I reported it, they wanted a pic. Problem is that the desktop render window (where the screen shots come from) everything looks fine.

Not sure about flickering shadows, but I saw a LOT of tracking dropouts when playing last night (where the screen goes light grey for a moment, and movement glitches).

My favourite VR related part was
