VR VR VR.

I'm surprised this is the first VR thread in the Wishlist. o.o

There is no way around VR this time. Even Indie Devs manage to make their games both for screen and HMD, more and more games let you choose between screen and VR.

And PlanCo, PlanZoo and all those other upcoming games in the assembly are, by game concept, destined to include VR.

You build a Coaster for weeks, wouldn't it be gratifying to experience that ride with a HMD? Ever since RCT introduced the ride view people were dreaming of experiencing that in VR.

It's a nightmare for performance, i get that, but just cause no one thinks of limiting the HMD implementation to guest and ride views (more control over drawcalls, could be shelled into regular UI screen mode)

or, as a compromise, how about a RECORDER that can record a ride in 360° 6DOF, like a prerendered video, it wouldn't have to render real-time but would still be a sought-after feature.
This would circumvent any performance nightmares.

I'd Love to see the ability for VR Support in Planet Zoo, as well as Planet Coaster itself. Im not sure how long this would take to implant, but it would be an amazing feature which would be nice addition for people who have VR, want to walk around their park in planet coaster, ride the roller coasters. It could be even more interactive on Planet Zoo with the addition to hand feeding animals or having petting zoo's where you could touch the animals and get up and close with them, that could be pretty fun to see c:

I'm feeling it's unlikely. Given the Devs have said at this current moment in time that Planet Coaster couldn't handle it.. with Planet Zoo being similar and with weather too ( which has been stated is not coming to PC for performance reasons) it feels unlikely.

Ok it's the second thread, first one was actually by StuartGT.
Looks like the search function of the new forum still has some hickups? (either that or it's my excuse for not digging deeper ;) )

I thought about the prerender approach a bit more and this might actually be a good solution for PlanCoVR, IF there ever will be any VR implementation,
prerendered would be a great middle ground. And it would circumvent the DX11 limitations. (Let's just assume for now, PZ will run DX12 compliant and can handle real VR.)

@Hatsune Miko: Yeah would be great, a full interactive VR tour through a virtual Zoo. It kinda sounds like it's destined for that.

Yes, the performance is the bottleneck, but how about the prerender idea?
That would take the drain off performance, wouldn't it?
It might take a while to record a VR video with PlanCo, but i always wondered why PlanCo never had prerendered (regular video recording).
Until last year i had a pretty slow computer (the quick one was for work only) and it was pointless to record any videos,
they lagged to the extreme (around 1-2 fps). With a quicker machine the fps is much better, of course,
but you can't record complicated rides or the like with a slow machine. That's taking away some ease-of-use in my opinion.
(and given the priority on middle-age computers, this should be a no-brainer to implement)

Prerendering would be "cheap" on performance AND make all the VR and Coastervid friends happy, too.
I think that's a classic win-win, no?

Please Please let this have VR support , for my children to have a first person view of walking around the park would be amazing.
no need for motion controls just simple joystick and i would be happy.

planet coaster and this would never handle VR if people added a huge park as it is all about the size of things to be pre loaded.
but if this for VR was all about having different rooms than as a open park it would run no problems.

limit the size of the rooms that it would run in VR and you have a game that will run fine

more objects & higher resolution means lower frame rate not including trying to record it as well. making a nightmare
zoo's are indoors and out doors
would love to see the same VR in doors and flat screen for those who love to build and expand.

nocturnal animals, snakes , fish , are sum off the exhibits i can think of for indoors
just my thoughts for VR
