Ship Builds & Load Outs Vulture - C2 beam or C3 pulse?

I'm currently running 2 C2 gimballed beam lasers on my Vulture. I love them to bits, but wondering if there is any sensible upgrade path from here or a more effective setup. I've seen comments about C3 beams being too much and causing overheating problems. In my current state, I can constantly fire my C2 beams for quite a while without overheating the ship. Even when it does overheat, it cools quickly enough before I can start firing again.

When the capacitor drains, one of the lasers keeps firing and that just leaves enough juice left to keep the other one firing intermittently, so kind of like having 1 beam and 1 pulse, but with the benefit of having 2 beam lasers when the capacaitor is charged.

Anyway, I was wondering does anyone know if 2 C3 pulse lasers would be more effective than my current setup, or are the C2 beams the way to go?

Thanks!

C3 gimbal beams are fine.

This is my present Vulture build and has become progressively less defensive as I get better.

Both have C3 gimballed beams.

A previous version was heavier with mil spec armour shield boosters but only B5 thrusters.

You sacrifice a lttle for A5 thrusters but they are worth it.

The big beams don't really suffer from heat in cqc as they cool quickly while engaging with the cannon or maneuvering.

My current Vulture build : http://coriolis.io/outfit/vulture/24A5A4A3E5B4E3C0v1o000n--4a5e2o6a2h.AwRj4zyA.AwhMIkEZNcg=?bn=Not%20Stock%20Vulture

Very similar to GunnerBill's except I have just the one 4B SCB and 5B Power Distributor (only because I couldn't find a 5A where I was hanging around). Originally I ran with twin pulse lasers but was getting a little bit sick of the lack of punch that set up had. Did have to drop a shield booster to power the beams laser though, but I'm finding that I hardly notice the reduction in shield strength while in CZ.

Thanks for the headsup on this one - I was trying to get myself 4A sensors as I hear this improves the lock on your gimballed weapons. Not to be, the closest I can get is 4B but shield cell banks are online whilst weapons are deployed which is an improvement on my current build. I've had to ditch chaff and kept the 4A scoop as 4A shield cells couldn't be armed with weapons deployed.

Bullkheads are your choice. All with 5A thrusters - RESULT!

I prefer to run C3 gimbaled pulse lasers on my vulture because even with 4 pips to shields and 2 to weapons you can still maintain a decent rate of fire indefinitely.

Running pulses IMHO is the most efficient weapon loadout on the Vulture BUT can be kind of boring, especially if like me you are severely restricted in game time (down from a couple of hours a day to a couple per week). I needed a more punchier and in turn more fun loadout which I found with the beam/cannon combo. Plus those cannons sounds... boom boom BOOM! :D

While it is possible to run two C3 beams on the vulture it is necessary to sacrifice on other modules, such as shields,FSD, and so on, in order to power them, even with power-management. Also the actual firing time is very low, though maybe not so low that you would mind it, seeing as the vulture's capacitor (A rated) can charge very quickly. Lastly, the Vulture will overheat very quickly while firing two C3 beams. A viable alternative that I use is to either run one C3 beam and one C3 pulse, or run two C3 burst.
