Ships Vulture for PvP?

Speaking of weapons... I'm using this
PA (focused)+ Gim. Cannon (long range + force shell) - paired on one trigger. All engineered towards same shot velocity.

Vulture is certainly no Meta but it is loads more fun than flying the Meta fdl. Max 4 boosters per ship would fix many many issues.

you cant control range in a vulture vs most medium ships, if somebody decide to reverse you just lose fight, you rely on banks with relatively small base strength or run hybrid, either way rails are a sirious problem, vulture have too many hard counters, basically any bi-weave fdl, any fast ship with better distributor and hitscan, boosters stacked fdl if mirror like build, but vs meta 4 booster FDL's, gimbal mediums (if you take double chaff) and hybrids is competetive

The Vulture is cheap to build, replace, and is easily the most 'serious' small ship for PvP. At the end of the day, like all smalls, it's still a meme. Anyone experienced is probably gonna beat you up, or you'll run out of ammo, but they're still a blast to fly. Not a terrible ship to learn in on the cheap.

They're definitely better in numbers.

I fought a guy about 6 months ago that used a vulture with fixed burst lasers with phasing sequence and long range. It was a rough fight and it was really hard to hit him. When I did it took alot out of him and I believe if I was using rail guns i would have done significantly more damage. He did tell me later it's best used in a group of other vultures to swarm and peck a target to death.

Isn’t that true of most medium ships though? If someone goes reverski in a Mamba and you are in a meta FDL they will control the range not you. The meta builds I have seen are not particularly fast around 410 with boosts in the 550 range.

What were you using?

Here you go S0rk. The entire build is tuned to keep the ship cool enough to be able to fire plenty of shots.
Had to make some tough choices but she can handle anything that comes along at the local CNB.

Here she is in action..

Thanks, reason I'm asking I built myself a shieldless Viper mk4, she has ~4200 point of hull and yes, I had rails on my mind

So I tried out the rapid fire phasing pulse laser build against a meta FDL. Got him down to 45% hull just with phasing damage, before he landed a couple of TC boosted plasma salvos that took my last ring of shields and cracked the canopy. Against a Krait Mk2 hybrid it was hopeless. Got about 5% off him. He was using frags and MC’s and the frags did a lot of damage. Cracked canopy again. Massive amount of fun though and I am enjoying getting into PvP. Vulture is fun to fly and even if I lost it a very cheap rebuy.
