Vulture sucks now!

So been playing ED since game preview for Xbox. Been flying a vulture for almost that whole time and two weeks ago I was rocking a plasma accelerator and loving it now I'm being out maneuvered by adders and gunships anyone else have this issue

No.

And the Vulture is even more OP once you get it fished out. Don't tell anyone though or you'll get it nerfed and I'll have to find out where you live.

Yep, similar issue. right after the update i could no longer run the stuff i've put into it, power plant nerf or something. also, manouvering seems a lot more sluggish compared to the previous version, but maybe it's all placebo

Yeah dirty thrusters and overcharged power plants take how that ship was balanced and threw it out of the window. It is arguably as good as a FAS now seeing as how ridiculous that ship gets when modded out. After I finish my Corvette a Vulture is next in line.

I don't get outmaneuvered in my Corvette by ships. You just aren't that good from the sounds of it.

Post a video please so we can judge the reality of the situation.

I respectfully disagree.

The Vulture is still a beast. Mine doesn't have any engineer upgrade yet, but with a bit of FA Off and Up/Down thursters, it's possible to out-turn anything.
Perhaps equipping A rated thrusters will help you turn faster. For the weapons, I suggest a fixed(or gimbaled) laser of your choice, and a large gimbaled multicanon.

Once you're loaded, practice, practice, practice.

The NPCs have a very repetitive flight patern, either turning forever, or jousting, or alterning both. Once you find the right combination of movements that allows you to shoot them, and stay out of their line of fire, just keep doing that. After spending an night in a CZ it'll become automatic for your fingers :p

It's very difficult for AI to out-manoeuvre you if you fly backwards. Use your thrusters to dodge their fire.

Waah? I'm finding the Vulture even better now with the new AI because agility is even more important than it was before. And with just the double shot frag cannon and overcharged power plant, I'm finding the Vulture a complete beast. And with the balancing issues with the NPC weapon mods, the improved crime & punishment system and the AI better than it was before, it's more important to have a lower rebuy cost. I kept my FAS and FDL at home this time during the latest bounty hunting CG and only used the Vulture.

The number of times I've been in a little dance with another ship, literally rubbing shields with them as we're trying to turn to face each other. Or I've been positioned so close to the nose of an Imperial Clipper that it's trying to shoot me with two PAs, one on each nacelle and they're both going either side of me. I took down my first Anaconda 1v1 last night since the 2.1 update using a Vulture. It didn't get a single shot on me.

What I suggest is that your personal way of fighting may not be suited to the Vulture and this difference has been accentuated since the 2.1 update. Maybe you rely on a faster or tankier ship in which case the FDL or FAS may be better.

Or it might be that some element of dog fighting is critical to your success and needs work. For example the FDL just wasn't working for me when I first bought it but that's because I wasn't keeping the throttle in the blue and was boosting everywhere. I changed the way I flew, added a huge MC, used HRPs and shield boosters instead of Shield Cell banks and now it's turning into a fine ship. Still not as much fun as the Vulture though. I'm finding that the power distributor is one of the strongest assets of the Vulture now. It allows me to boost to stay as close as possible to the rear of the target just as the enemy is about to turn to face me. I've had to do that a lot more since 2.1 came out.

What a weird thing to say, the Vulture is still pretty OP without mods, I have spent quite some time in czs with it in 2.1. And now with grade 3 weapon focused powerdistributer hes even more OP, once I get stronger weapons, shields and thrusters he will be a Deathstar.

Can you post a video of you fighting so we can have a look at what you are doing? The Vulture is one of the most agile ships in game, you shouldn't be having problems imo.

yeah, have to agree with most people here, the Vulture is a killer ship .. the build I got during the beta (lots of fish were used) was a beast .. a Vulture with no power problems is truly something to behold.

If the best you can offer as a post in this thread is a version of "You suck", please don't bother.

Several of these sort of posts removed.

The Vulture only feels like it's been nerfed, I'm still flying with vanilla upgrades, don't do as well in high RES as I did before the update, but I don't believe it's that bad, though I do feel somewhat peeved that an Anaconda seems to be able to turn on a dime, heck before update I did better against them than FDL's and Pythons, Anacondas were once the reason I avoided getting a larger ship, now it might be worth investing in.
