Wait, is that a new Bactrian Camel model?

I've just noticed that the Bactrian Camel has a new icon on the trade market. I threw some into a habitat and noticed a visual difference. Is this a rework following fan requests?

I did check the patch notes from today but I didn't see anything about it listed anywhere. I haven't seen this model before though!

The fluffiness seems different to me. I dunno, maybe it did get a remaster?

So the pattern/coat description didnt list anything different. Still a wool coat with no seasonal context. But the second pic (which is a model of this camel Ive never seen before) deffo looks like the winter coat we've been asking for. The reason I looked into this is because I noticed there was a new variation of icons in the trade market for both male and female camels.
In the game I got up right close to the coat and it's actually very different to the camel in the first pic. You might be able to tell in this post in fact. The wool coat in the second pic seems much thicker and longer. There also seems to be more definition and different shading around the nose and eyes.

Not sure because of the slightly different Poses but I think the Position of the Ears was changed. If the Fur is longer, it seems to be only a little bit.

I dont know, the texture looks a little different which makes the fur look thicker. The actual model seems untouched as far as i can see

The texture is definitely higher quality but the model itself could use some work

Sdanwolf and I were talking about this on his stream the other day. What this actually does is show how badly the base game animals need texture updates. Just a texture update to the Bactrian makes it 100x better.

I think the second camel (pictured) looks soooo much better.
I hope Frontier can continue tweaking base game animals...as well as that certain DLC animal that needs crucial rework.

If they're willing to go back and remaster or even just tweak a good chunk of the base roster that could almost make up for some of the disappointments with new roster picks.

Unfortunately in many cases a new texture isn't enough to up the quality to even close to the current DLC level. Like the brown bears, for example. They need a lot more than just some nicer fur shading.
