Wait, what? I thought Heat Sink Launchers worked in Supercruise!!!

I thought the good old HSL worked in SC since forever. Only just now it didn't and whilst topping my Vette up with a double dose of 7a SCB's I fried myself somewhat.

Nothing wrong with my binds, nothing wrong with the modules, checked the alternate key and checked they worked in normal space.

Very odd.

My bet: You had SC-Assist controlling the ship. If you are not in control you cannot fire heatsinks. Much as when you use a DC ...

Do tell!

Bit odd that it allows me to use the SCB's then...

Anyway - I couldn't say for sure because I was panicking too much at ~300% heat to notice but that's probably it! They worked fine later on a different ship in SC but that doesn't really help the investigation.

Recently when doing passenger rescue missions my heatsink launchers kept switching off without telling me. Didn't notice until I went back into the burning space station! Happened a few times and had to keep turning them back on - and then suddenly it was fine again 🙄

Did you have module damage due to heat, the heat sinks don’t have much integrity and it does’t take that much to start malfunctioning.

I did wonder that at the time but I don't think so. They were literally just turned off. It was weird. It happened several times in a row, but not had it before or since.

Power priority assignment and some other variable (like deploying hardpoints or something) not leaving enough power for your lowest priority group?
