Waiting in line

I can tell how it is in Liseberg. Usually you start queue, and then when you have queued for a while, you show your pass/ticket to a worker, it is quite close to the ride itself. And then you are let into a second queue/schaffolding part, usually the sorting area for the coasters or the "cut off area" for the maximum number of riders for the flat rides.

There's never a person standing at the very beginning of the queue. There are usually queue time sign there though, along with the ride name. And then there's door/gate that can be put to stop people from entering the queue when ride is down.

This is exactly how "old fairgrounds" works here in France.

But for Amusement/Theme park it's always entrance fee and that's it.

That's why I would prefer them to have the booth. If they remove it would limit the types of parks you can create in scenario, which would make a more boring game.

And I want to debate you about the name "fairground" vs theme/amusement park. Either types aren't exclusive to the payment system. The world's parks are a little more flexible than that. It is not either - or.

In no ticket/ride pass game that booth could work as the guy measuring the children for height limit.

What about people cutting in line and others getting angry at them? This happens in any amusement park you go to. You could even have security punish people who cut in lines.

Well, depend the country I guess, because in my country, at least, it's the case.

- Fairground* = 100% free entrance + paying rides
- Theme/Amusement park = 100% paying entrance + free rides**

And it's not more flexible here, it's always the case.
But I'm agree with you that it's cool to have it's better to have a choice, and that is probably different in other countries. [yesnod][up]

* = ephemeral "parks" made with removable rides, contained in trucks, and where the travellers live in caravans, going from city to city.
** = expect "skill stalls" and "chances games" allowing players to win (pay) stuffed animals, and "karting"

I'm going to a county fair with friends this weekend and was surprised they have both entrance fee AND ride tickets: as in you must first pay to enter then pay to ride. Ouch.

I've often seen staff members at the beginning of a coaster queue at Six Flags and Kennywood. Usually they click a counter and check heights.

I think each park is different. There isn't ever one right way for this stuff to work.

Back On Topic: Great ideas.
I'm always in favor of more animations. The guests are already so alive: more, more, more!

Really ? What country ? Why go there ? It's a monopoly and you have no choice because it is the only park in the region or something like that ?

It's like a paying game + cash shop ! Double combo [haha]

USA's fairs are like that. You pay to get in. This price gets you in as well as the shows and entertainment throughout the day. It really is a full day of stuff to see and do. Rides cost extra and you buy tickets to ride.

In my county the usually have a free ride day on a day that would normally be a very low attendance day.

Some of the entertainment I have seen at my local fair.

Tracker pulls, demolition derby, concerts, pig races, acrobats, magic shows, animal judging, and lumber Jack shows.

There is also large exhibition halls. Usually 1 that hold local food, craft, and art exhibits that competed. The other is of local businesses.

I wonder if what you call fairs are different than what we call them.

You also forgot the animal auctions... Where various butchers bid on livestock.(Though that could technically be considered part of the animal judging...)

Ideas:

-Leaving the queue, pushing others out of the way (usually to go to the toilet)
-Texting and calling others
-Listening to music with headphones
-Playing games
-Taking pictures
-Arguments
-Line jumpers
-Sitting on the railing
-Watching the ride
-Saying THE MOST ILLOGICAL STUFF ABOUT PARKS EVER
-Watching other rides
-Getting bored
-Amusing themselves
-Rethinking their entire lives and just stand there
-Or just not do anything at all

I forgot about those. Never went to those. I was in 4-H as a kid so I knew the kids that raised livestock. I was just a city 4-Her so I never did the animal thing.

People who pretend they have a family member further along the queue so that you let them past. [rolleyes]
