Just an idle thought about incurring damage from tailgating or getting too close behind another ship.
Seeing as ships are driven by one or more gigantic thrusters, I thought it might be interesting if said engines dealt a little, or a lot of damage to ships that ventured too close to their six.
My knowledge of science is beyond sketchy, but wouldn't getting behind the business end of such large engines bring some kind of consequence? Particularly to shields maybe?
I just wondered if it could add another element to combat in particular, and safe driving in general. Nothing too punitive. Say a given arc behind a ship where damage would be incurred, possibly rising if a pilot boosted, and maybe even becoming dangerous if a pilot managed to low, or high wake when an adversary was right behind them. At the moment I can see the engines of friends and foes, but I can't feel them.
