Wake farming when no famine systems?

Where do you farm wakes when there's no famine systems with distribution centers?
Seems there is none atm within the bubble.

Yesterday I went to apparently "crowded" Shinrarta in the Open. It was quite OK for some time, but when hollow squares were gone, so were most wakes.
PS
Thanks to guys/gals there for being cordial and letting me do my long-range-scanning in peace from within no-fire-zone (y)

Instead of dedicating (really boring) playtime specifically to wake scanning, I just keep a LR scanner on my various bubble shuttles. Any time you've spent a few minutes in a station (outfitting, shield recharge, etc), there'll be 2-4 wakes to scan on your way out. A few here, a few there, and eventually those DWE's will accumulate. Since I do a LOT of bubble jumping (patrolling various systems, engineering, BGS missions, etc), that adds up to a lot of in-line scanning, without just sitting around waiting for wakes.

I never had much luck scanning wakes in Shinny -- not really enough traffic. If you're determined to scan wakes, I think you have more luck in high-pop tourist economies now that FDev has accomplished the miraculous feat of abolishing hunger throughout the galaxy.

Ultimately, this sad, chronically broken, state of affairs has led to most CMDRs just doing their scanning at Jameson's crash site, then using the material trader to get those rare DWEs. :rolleyes:

Thanks @Speedcuffs. I was hoping to get some deeper analysis, like if someone, in the meantime, has maybe found how to locate wake-rich systems by combining system population, system state and idk, system affiliation.

@Rick6549 Haha, I bet it is ;)(y)

@Camisade Thanks. I kind of neglected regular, daily scanning and thought to fill the databanks up by watching a movie 😊 and doing some waking with G5 long distance at the same time, heh. Tourist sites sound interesing.

I was thinking high pop/tourism/boom.
I can't say if that's workable though, I don't even own a wake scanner anymore.🤷‍♂️
