Horizons Wake scanning and chemical manipulators

Datamind wake exceptions, have scanned quite a few wakes now, never got anything other than the destination, any suggestions?
And chemical manipulators are supposed to be found in haulage vessels in high security systems. Is there a short cut to finding them? Can I go to a lawless place and just destroy haulage vessels till I find one?
Any help appreciated, Biggbudd.

Datamined Wake Exceptions are a rare reward from wake scanning, based on others' advice - go to a system in Famine state, find a Distribution Centre and you will get lots of wakes to scan

Chemical Manipulators I seem to see in a lot of Encoded Emissions USS (not sure if it has to be specific systems)

lol No, the Materials are just floating around the ship... And if you reset the instance they're back... ;)

Edit: optionally you can head out to Dav's Hope and collect some needed Materials by driving around and resetting the instance after that. There are enough threads about that...

Whenever I need Chem Manips, I just find a Convoy Dispersal USS in an Anarchy system and go to town, can usually get a couple, or like mentioned above, a system in Famine or Outbreak and in Anarchy systems are the best way to go. Another way is to hit any conflict zone and kill those famous T9 Terminators that they send in. A good place to get Polymer Capacitors as well, but you gotta be quick cause the moment you stop to collect the materials is the moment they start spawning around you. Suggest using a Collector limit in Conflict Zones.

Thx peeps, now the proud owner of a few chemical manipulators, but what about them pesky datamind wake exceptions? I have scanned over 100, and nothing sob

Go to an Anarchy system and kill T9's and T7's. Rarely see wanted transport ships so if you go to the Anarchy system there will be plenty of targets. They drop chemical manipulators.

I get enough scanning wakes outside Garay Terminal in Deciat. The ratio is low though so expect to do it for a few hours.

Roken's answer in the first reply is the best option for wake exceptions. When you're looking for distribution centres, keep in mind that they only appear in your nav panel when you're within 1kls of them.

Chem Man : In my sig, full pictorial guide for Dav's Hope
Arsenic : Same system as Dav's Hope, but at A3
Datamined Wake Exception : Famine state,Distribution Centres, currently one close to Dav's Hope

Thx. I'll give this a try.

Detained wake exceptions. I get mine from Outbreak systems about 1000ly from main star inside Encoded Emission sites. I also get pharmaceutical isolators from same systems by dropping into high grade sites at same time.

Chemical manipulators. I get my stocks from Combat Aftermath sites mostly. They seem pretty common in most systems and I always drop in those to have a look if one pops up.

Arsenic is a pain in the <insert word> for me. I have given up largely trying to get the stuff using surface prospecting it's just too random and the srv kinda annoys me in general. I get mine from missions but I think I need to go the dark side and just farm the barnacles.

Do you have spare space for data scans? I was wandering around surface bases for several hours looking for CIF and didn't get any, then noticed my data storage was full....
Got space, done about 500 scans now at distribution centers, still no result talk about grind, pfffff.

Have got space. Have done about 500 scans at distribution centers, but only using a d class scanner. Will an A class more likely give me a result?

No, only range.
What I have done is engineered my wake scanner for speed. When you do that you lose range but it doesn't matter if you use a fast ship. My wake scanner scans in 2.3 secs(instead of 10)

Also chasing these. I am finding I get them in a run. 2 or 3 in a row then none for 5 mins. Really weird.
