Hunting neutron stars around 16,000 light years from SOL I came across a system that initially freaked me out -- a bright flash blasted my cockpit as I entered the system. There was a single neutron star about 6 light seconds from a class V gas giant. Here's some screenshots, which I believe is the result of a graphical anomaly due to the proximity of the light source (the neutron star) -- the gas giant had no hemisphere in shadow.
