Walking around my ASP [Video]

The Oculus Rift always sounded like a gimmick to me but the more I see of things like this the more I like the idea.

I use 1440*1620. The bottom will be cut off on a 1080p screen of course - I then just adjusted a recording window that's roughly 16:9/16:10 starting just above the lower end of the screen. I guess higher resolutions would be possible even on my outdated system, the only issue is that even at this resolution, it looks as if I'm constantly slightly looking up when recording from a normal flight situation, because it cuts off more from the lower end than the upper one. With an increase in resolution, that effect worsens for obvious reasons.

I thought about just flipping a screen to avoid the problem altogether, but as I just use youtube for uploading random snippets and don't run a channel, it's good enough for me. However it would be worth considering for the best quality.

Great I will give this a try on the next video I set. May even flip the monitor... :)

Say wheat! I've been saving up for an Asp to use with my DK2 but, bounty hunting my way to it will take a while I'm afraid. Great video!

Actually, now that I thought about it it's a bad idea - the video will be restrained to 1080 width, so you could just as well set the second window to 1080*1246 and then there wouldn't be any issues with being off centre with the recording window. Guess the only proper workaround would be a 4k screen.
