Newcomer / Intro Walking distance on planets

I've been trying to find out how far you can walk before your ship departs.
When you are using the SRV the distance is 2km I believe, however I can't find what the on-foot distance is.
Anyone know the number?

One could experiment and then know.

Drive the SRV out to 1.9 km and then walk the additional 100 meters and if the ship departs, then its the same...

I found out the hard way that it's 2 Km from your commander's position. The SRV position doesn't matter.

I was searching for Fungoida, and had just found my third patch a few hundred meters away. My SRV was 1.9 Km from my ship. I jumped out of my SRV, and sprinted to the patch. My ship promptly took off just as I reached the patch. Fungoida almost always grow in very rocky terrain. It took me about an hour to get to an area where my ship could land.

I hate Fungoida.....
