Walking in VR

I agree, as a VR player, they won't be getting any more money from me.
Staying with Horizons.
My only concern is if they book-end the Horizons client so people can't use that version anymore in the future.

FD have previous on doing things like that to make it easier to support their lowest common denominators...

What really es me off is that on-foot VR... IS ALREADY IN THE GAME!!!
We see it when we jump with the carrier, for the jump sequence while you sit in your command chair it switches to proper VR, and it look stunning.

All what is missing is a HUD. Heck, I don't even need the HUD, just give us the option to enable it in the settings. Mark it experimental, off by default. But at least we could enjoy it during non-combat mission, exploration or on stations !

It is SOOOO close! Someone at FDev must really hate VR.
VR is the proper way of playing ED, it is the proper way to play ANY kind of sim.

Sadly steady 90 fps is tough with highish resolution headsets (I have a G2) even with good systems. Personally I am content if I get steady motion smoothed 45 everywhere but the toughest scenarios. But when you get steady 90 fps, it is awesome.

This, I think it bugs me even more since it is so close to workable on foot. You can switch to the External Camera and move the camera just above your head to walk around in VR, but again no hud and you can't interact with things. I do it every now and then to enjoy the views, but then the grey pancake hurts me even more.

A really disappointing lacking feature. After 3 years of Odyssey, I thought they would find the time with a small group of devs for a month or so to implement what little is needed to get it. They could even launch it as a Beta and "use it at your own risk". But no, seems to be too complicated. Is it harder than I think it is? Maybe, but it doesn't look like it.
