I’m loving using the new Walkthrough Exhibits in my zoos. They are such a wonderful addition to the game! However, the one thing that bugs me is the way the sound works with them.
I’ve built an aviary style exhibit for my fruit bats which can be viewed from inside the exhibit and outside. But, guests on the outside cannot hear the fruit bats, despite the walls being mesh and the path being right up close to the cage’s walls. You can only hear the very loud bat squeaks and chirps from inside the Walkthrough Exhibit, but from outside it is silent.
This is not only very immersion breaking, but very sad, as I’d love to be able to hear my fruit bats before I see them!
Additionally, it worries me about possible future animal inclusions. Things like birds are characterised by their sharp, shrill calls that can be heard all around the zoo. If you can’t hear animals from outside the walkthrough exhibit, what does this mean for possible future inclusions?
I really hope frontier manages to fix this one, as it is the only drawback for me in regards to these exhibits.
