Wandering around a Guardian Structure

Module Site.jpg

Just got here. Nothing's popped up to eat my face yet.

There used to be four Bark Mounds locations here, but no bio signals showed up when I remapped the place. That's... concerning.

Hey on those brain trees...

If you shoot the mat pods with a hand held weapon, do they drop the mats?

If they drop the mats, can you add them to your mat inventory by walking over them?

It looks like you can't use the genetic sampler on a Brain Tree. On the upside, I can see Polyporous Growths on some of these, so gathering raw materials probably still works.

I want to take off and visit some Ostrinum Brain Trees that I hope are still there, but first, anything I forgot to mention.... uh....

On foot you don't have enough mass to trigger the pylons at a Blueprint site. So no Sentinels, which relieved me no end.

I haven't memorized all the petroglyphs at Guardian sites, so I can't swear to it that there's nothing new. But the textures were all clearly meant to be seen at SRV distance. If there was something new for us there I think it would have been higher res. But I'm wrong all the time. Just ask me to do some arithmetic!

I poked around all over the building people call the Hangar and discovered nothing along the lines of secret doors or, you know, anything.

I think that if there are new Guardian sites to explore on foot they will probably be on worlds where we couldn't land before. Heck, I may have just flown past half a dozen of them, for all I know.

Sadly, it's too hot here for me to get out of my ship. But my Ostrinum Brain Trees are still here, with their own visual upgrade, and with growths (yay mats!).

The sickly all-green balls of the DSS are now brilliant blue balls. They're not any easier to read. But at least I could tell that if I avoided the mountaintops I would probably find something.
