Want Titan X Pascal Performance For Less? (GTX 1080 Ti)

The rumor was that NVIDIA is releasing 1080Ti cards at CES 2017 in January. That's not a long wait, see what happens then :)

I'll bet on some sort of an announcement at CES. Jan 5-8, 2017 in Vegas.

Meanwhile, if Black Friday sales offer me a Titan X Pascal for under $1,000, I may treat myself to an early present.

Given there's no competition at the high end, nVidia might decide to keep binning 1080's with working 384-bit buses (the regular GTX1080 is 256-bit).

Not sure when they'll release the 1080Ti, but my bet would be Jan too. I think the Ti is likely, certainly before next-gen hardware.

Waiting for when we get that new house then im gonna build the ultimate gaming pc for 5000$+ maybe less that will depend on the cost of components

There comes a point where expense goes through but performance somewhat stagnates.
If the price is with screens I can agree with it, if not I'd rather get two 2000$ machines, or better yet, one for 2000 and then keep the rest for a new machine three years from now ;)

Anyhoo that's my nickel's worth.

They will be waiting to see what AMD's VEGA GPU's bring to the table, then will tweak its stock clock speed and bandwidth accordingly to offer *slightly* ~8-10% better performance for a $200 / £150 price increase. That's how nVidia work. They definitely won't release it before the competition given they currently have the high end market wrapped up anyway. nVidia are nothing if not tactical in their pricing and launch dates.

It's still just speculation over the 1080ti really, some say it won't happen, some say it will happen soon and other sources say it will happen but not for sometime.
Really I personally think they'll try and get what they can out of the 1080GTX first so I think we'll see it down the line but it will still likely have GDDR5X and really for VR the jump to DDR6 will make a big difference.

Frankly right now, AMD prices are starting to look compelling to me.

a bump to that thread : Nvidia announced they are finished with the Pascal GPU family.
We will most likely not see a 1080Ti. Now I have to reconsider the Titan I suppose

You do realise that if a 1080Ti is ready to go, such a report is still 100% accurate, right? It means they are done with development, does not mean they have put all product up for sale...
