Want to find rare stars? Here's how!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but i found a neat little trick.

Firstly, it doesn't work with all randomly named sectors, but it does seem to work for quite a few.

Here's trick. It works with those random sector names which can take an AA-A in it in the second half of the name.

eg, something like, BLU THAU AA-A etc...

Ok, many know that AA-A systems are special, but how to quickly get the really special ones?

Append H1.

eg: WIBBLE WOBBLE AA-A H1

Click the find arrow, you might need to do it twice (if not exact match, clicking a second time can prompt it to find close matches).

If it doesn't move, then the trick doesn't work on this sector. If it moves but goes to empty space where there is no star, its also not going to work.

But most of the time it will lock onto a star. If it does, you can cycle through them. What you should see will be mainly really rare stuff, like Herbigs, Carbon Stars, White Dwarfs, Wolf-Rayets, Black Holes, etc. O types also appear.

Why H1 specifically?

I was testing with different values. A1, B1, etc. Only H1 produced consistent results. My guess is its something to with how the Stellar Forge generates the stars.

Anyway, have fun, and try it out in the sectors near to where you are exploring.

This is particulary true in the rim. There non sequence stars are rare, but if you search just the name without imputting any number, it always poimts you to exotic stars. Problem is that almost all of them are out of range far up or down the ecliptical.

H0 is even rarer and usually better. But what you do is type only the beginning of the name, for example EORM CHREOU, and the game will take you to the rarest system it has, in this case EORM CHREOU AA-A H0. Then you can click on the next button and see what's there.

This is how I found my biggest supergiant - the one above.

Thanks. I never thought of trying zero.
