Newcomer / Intro Want to fly the SLF!

o7 all

I have been wanting to fly the SLF in combat for a while against NPCs. Tried it once against a small wing of Vultures and it was fun. Back then I just left the Krait hanging in space while fighting the Vultures, and they didn't seem to be interested in shooting at the mothership?

My idea is to Giga-tank a T-10, put on as many turreted laser as possible, and set them all to fire at will. Then I'll take the fighter out and start some trouble. Will the mothership still fire at enemy ships if i don't bring a NPC co-pilot? Can I engage enemy ships from the fighter and have the mothership shoot at those too? Are the mothership "clever" enough to start firing on its own?

Thanx in advance :alien:

(I might just try it, but losing a T-10 is pretty expensive.)

Interesting! I fitted some turreted beams to a T-10 I have, and a fighter hangar. Then I went to a CNB and left the T-10 with permission to fire at will. Next I jumped into the fighter and attacked a NPC Elite in a Viper. The NPC didn't care about the mothership, and went straight for me in the fighter. Great fun! I used the imperial iFighter with gimballed beams and I'd say that next time I try that there is a 50% chance that I crash and burn :)

Next I'll find a cheap small mothership with no weapons and use that as fighterbase, hoping that the NPCs continue focusing on me. The SLF is crazy fun in combat! Might even have to go and get the Guardian ones.

Edit: The T-10 just tried to follow me, but didn't fire a shot.
