63 Eridani is done. Outstanding effort. Our focus is now Imeut. The system is set to fall this week but we can stop it. It's also a system controlled by our friends the Brazilian League of Pilots so with both of us working on it we estimate we can clear it in time for Thargsday.

Targets Attacked Port Imeut - Levi-Strauss Dock, medium and small ships only. Focus on Evacuating the Critically Wounded.
Unattacked Port Everyone else continue to help out in Awara and Ebisu. Both have a large unattacked station.

*Op: Ida *

Killing Scouts/getting started : A Low-Intensity Anti Xeno Combat Zone is the best way to get your feet wet and get a feel for the general flow of battle. The AXI (link above) is a great resource to help you get started. (suggestion from @Fedifensor, below)

From my own experience: Anti Xeno Combat Zones, Non-Human signal sources below 5*, and the scout-interdictions are the best way to find Thargoid Scouts to kill and get into AX combat. As soon as you're finding Scouts 'easy' (or before!) then build the Chieftain that the AXI recommends (links above). It takes a bit to get the resources, but it's 100% worth it. The AXI also has guides and videos on AX combat techniques and ideas.

* not all NHSS below 5 are Scouts, be careful :)

A recommendation of where to find small numbers of Thargoid Scouts would be helpful for those who have never fought Thargoids before. Blowing up a few Scouts will help build skills before getting into the more complicated task of taking down an Interceptor.

Non-Human signal sources Threat 3 has 2 Scouts. Threat 4 typically has 4-7 Scouts and sometimes 2 human ships. Threat 5 has a Cyclops OR 4-8 Scouts. Threat 6...well you know where this is going. Have fun!

Threat 6 has a solo Basilisk or a Cyclops with Scouts escort

Higher threat USS will have solo interceptors (Medusa or Hidra), combination of interceptors and scouts or combination of interceptors

Sorry for crossposting, but here's some additional info on the current target systems:

HIP 25679 is a very inconvenient system to operate in for an amateur like me. It only has one open starport remaining and that's an outpost, and the next safe base seems to be in Vukurbeh, which is also under Alert so you get hyperdicted even during RTB.

Awara is also nasty bc all the stations, orbital and planetary, are over 8000 klicks out. Huge waste of time getting there.

Ebisu might provide a nicer battleground. Haven't been there to check if Dietz Terminal at 350ls is still open but that would be a good battleground, similar to Wakata and easier to reach. It also offers a convenient escape route to Sibito, a safe system (non-alert) with a nice big starport at just 250ls from the sun.

Change of target for those able to do it. We have received a desperate call for help from the Brazilian League of Pilots to save 63 Eridani.

The timer bug has been fixed so if HIP 25679 is not done this week it gets another chance. 63 Eridani does not, it falls this week if it is not saved. If we can clear it we can return to HIP 25769 afterwards if it still needs help. 63 Eridani also has a lot of Fed factions for those grinding rank.

New Target - 63 Eridani, Hartlib Terminal.
Warning - Experienced and Engineered Pilots Only.

Hartlib Terminal is a large Coriolis and an old style burning station. Inside is debris and you will overheat as you try to land. Old school rescues in a new situation. Even the escape pods and other items are there, although the missions are gone to collect them so all you can do is hand them into S&R. Shame.

The rescue ship is in Altair, 188.75ly from Hartlib Terminal. Those who are able, stock up with cargo bays and focus on Evacuating the Critically Wounded. Everyone else continue to help out in Awara and Ebisu.

I checked some systems from the AXI website list and yeah, either there is no orbital, too far away or too small (flying a Corvette here). Though if you require a smaller landing pad the choice is bigger, such as Ebisu as listed above (and it even has some L size station nearby). Else Obamumbo is the closest match after Wakata I could find matching all the points I listed. I had a blast at Wakata with everyone and it felt like a long battle (almost 2 weeks?). Personally, I hope I can find such an opportunity again soon.

The station in 63 Eridani is damaged but not under attack which suits better for evacs probably.
