anyone else here struggling with the heat?

here in blighty i am not used to 30 degrees at night. my oculus rift face sponge feels like a racing drivers underpants.... it probably does not smell much better either.

what do you guys do to keep your gaming space cool?

on that note... does anyone want to demo my rift

?

Just curious, how do you know what racing drivers underpants smell like? And yes it's hot - open them windows!

Here in Madrid (Spain), it's been 35-40 degrees by day (even a bit more) and between 30 and 36 degrees by night ever since the summer started.

Literally, I tried to open a window and the wave of heat that followed it was like a punch

I drove around every B&Q, Asda, Tesco and Aldi on Weds night looking for a fan because I was literally stuck to my chair. All sold out. Eventually got an 18" industrial high volume fan from ScrewFix for 40 quid. Its not quiet but it will refill your entire house with fresh air in about 10 minutes. Highly recommended. Transporting it home from work on a folding bike... not so recommended

I will never buy a plastic fan again.

Yea it's very annoying all the heat and the light us Brits just arn't used to it! Turns out there's a downside to having a powerful gaming rig - it's like switching a heater on.

Window open -fan blowing outdoor air in is what I'm doing.

Then I would suggest a quick cool shower followed by sitting by the fan without drying off.
This worked for me during heat wave brown out. Also had a spray bottle with water.

You use a fan right? Never play with Rift without a Fan.

Today might even be the worst day with around 40+ Celcius incoming for Breda NL.
The moist makes it feel like 55. Being naked is pointless and wrap yourself in frozen towels lasts 5,5 minutes. Even shaved my head to get rid of as much brain insulator as possible.
Found a +. The rear scooter tire doesn't slowly run flat like it usually does.

It's been roughly 40°C for the last three days for me, and over 30 for the whole week. No fan nor AC, just old-fashioned cold showers & ice cubes

Here in NY it's nice, 72F. I'd prefer 60F, but eh, it's summer.

And yeah, my PC generates a ton of heat.

They said today we hit around 38 degree Celsius. Oh well, my windows are all wide open. My room is equipped with a pair of heat sinks, so no sweat is given.
