Wanted after killing wanted after patch 1.1

Just killed a wanted to get 2900,-, but after i hit him once i got wanted status myself, and is getting hunted now.
Nothing like this before pacth 1.1.

Yup, since 1.1 this is happening a lot.
People with a "Wanted" status used to be fair game, now you shoot them you get to be "Wanted" too!

It's nice to feel "Wanted" isn't it?

I'm sure it is just FD "balancing" things a bit. After all, they nerf the more expensive ships so the majority of people in cheap-ships can have more of a chance, so why not make us all "Wanted" too?

Seems like a fine idea to me ;-)

it seems there's only a few of us with this problem, so maybe there's a common denominator somewhere. today i stored my Asp and bought + upgraded a Cobra because the Asp repair bills were too expensive - and not once yet have i had the glitch in the Cobra (touch wood)

i first thought it was caused by the KWS but have had it happen again since selling the KWS. i'll keep upgrading and swapping bits to try and isolate the cause...

I got fined for shooting a wanted ship.

The claim was I fired inside the no fire zone, but i was not mass locked at the time.... I thought mass lock and the no fire zone of space stations were practically one and the same.

possibly my mistake, but............... I dunno!.

I killed about 20 or so NPC pirates last night - I scanned all of them first, but just with the normal scanner as I don't have a KWS fitted. I wasn't once incorrectly set to Wanted status myself. I wonder what the key is to trigger this bug?

I Interditched a wanted in Deep Space (Federation), and im friendly with Federation.
I didnt use a Wanted Scanner, have not so much free space/slots on my Eagle :p
But just after i fired the first shot i got wanted status on me, it did scare me a bit, since i havent played this game for more than a week, and never tried to be wanted ;)

But i jumped to another system to pay the bill, and im back now. But dont dare to shot at any at all. And trade in a Eagle.... ?? Nah...
Think i put the game on the shelves until a fix, or until someone can tell why it happens so i can avoid it :)

Ok tried to hunt a wanted again, this time with a Wanted Scanner, and behold it worked, i didnt recieve a wanted status as reward.
But miss my missile/harpoon defense on that util slot :/

I've got to agree with this. Last night me and a friend met up (yes we managed it) in a system and went hunting together at a RES.

I came away clean, he got a wanted sticker!

hmm my Asp gets me wanted, my Cobra does not. what weapons are you guys using when the bug occurs? i'm using 2x the 'D' grade gimballed beams on the Asp, i forget what class, but they cost 500k cr each. Cobra has the same but the smaller 'E' grade and they've been fine so far

i have no KWS on either ship but the bug still happens for me

Got 2x C2 Gimballed MC's and 2x C1 Gimballed Beams on my Cobra and haven't had any issues...yet. I also flew my Type 6, with 2x C1 Turreted Burst Lasers and managed ok in that too. I was worried they might accidentally tag the guy (local enforcement) who came to help me out when I was interdicted. The C1 Beam Turrets, even with A Grade sensors, are TERRIBLY inaccurate except at super close range.

my Asp gets me wanted, my Cobra does not.
ok cancel that, the last two sessions my Cobra got a bounty both times.

not sure what to do now, i can't really do a great deal while this bug is active. lately the security guys have been in Anacondas - my Asp earned about 18,000 profit before the bug bit again and i took about 80,000 damage from the Anaconda (and about 5 normal cops) before i escaped the mass lock of the RES. at this rate i'll have no cash left soon

Several players reported this behavior in 1.0, myself included. Then things really went down hill when bounties and fines couldn't be paid off, but logging off and back on magically cleared them. There was a server side update that corrected the bounty paying glitch, but it appears that the becoming wanted when shooting a wanted ship has made it through the latest sets of updates. Lovely...
