Ok, Wanted Again.
I am surface mining for selenium and found one of those sitting duck NPC's next to one of the useless automated mining stations.
The Data Link Scan from the SRV netted me a bit of data for some future use maybe and the regular scan showed a 63K cr bounty by the local controlling faction.
Brought my ship down and did a KWS. Bounty jumps to over 100K cr so I decided to take him out.
Maneuvered around so the base was out of the line of fire and opened up on him from about 750 meters and his shield was melting like snow in a blast furnace.
Not sure how it happened, but for some reason a defense turret at the base took offence to my attack on the NPC and started shooting at me.
This complicated matters and the only way I could get out of range of the turret was to get the NPC between me and the turret.
Things were doing well, though slow, since I am now trying to kill a Vulture at 3000 meters but with primo ammo my Multi-cannons in my AspX were getting it done.
Then I get a message that the local controlling faction has put a 450 CR bounty on me for evidently accidentally hitting the defense turret that had attacked me.
Got the kill and this is what is strange.
If they wanted him, why did their defense turret shoot at me in the first place.

I am still on the surface. If I stay there, mine selenium and keep my nose clean, will the bounty still eventually change to a legacy fine in 48 hours or whatever??
