Horizons Wanted....but not wanted?...

I may be missing something here but, long story short, I accidentally killed an NPC [though he attacked ME first?... go figure]... anyway, I am now WANTED but, am unable to pay off my fine? Hopefully the screenies will explain.

Have I missed something?

The bounty on me is shown to the left... in the middle, it shows there is no bounty to pay, and the right shows I AM wanted AND wanted at the station I am docked with [though the image has been clipped a bit?.. What have I missed folks?.

Any help would be well received :)

Bounties can no longer be paid (since 1.3 IIRC). You'll need to wait the indicated 4 days. OR you can go to the station belonging to the faction issuing the bounty, buy a sidewinder, fly out, get scanned, get destroyed and pay the bounty upon rebuy.

And there have been no hotfixes for this kind of thing?... Damn... yet another death to notch up :( - Thanks for the info though. :)

No hotfix because it's intended design. The idea was to add some consequences to being a criminal.

Yes, exactly. Previously you could murder anyone you felt like and then just dock at an outpost, pay off the fine and be all shiny and nice again.

Now you get creamed for being a naughty boy/girl/entity. [up]

Moral of the story: actions have consequences. Class dismissed. :D

I had an incident in a nav beacon a few days ago where I am sure I had not accidentally hit the Feds, yet one started attacking me.

I had just shot a WANTED ship, and got the bounty for it. I was turning around looking for another target when I get the message "under attack!". I figured I caught a stray shot from another fight, so prepared to engage. I saw the ship firing at me, and locked him up. By the time my weapons were ready he was DEFINITELY shooting at me.

I returned fire and...BOUNTY ISSUED FOR SHOOTING THE FEDS. All the Green Feds went Red, and they all fired at me destroying my ship in 5 seconds flat!

I still don't understand why a Fed went red and started shooting me. I wasn't wanted at that moment, and all other Feds were Green. The bounty was issued after I returned fire.

Thanks to Frontier for looking into it, but they were unable to determine exactly what happened. Maybe this is your situation?

Are you pledged to Powerplay?

That'd be great if there weren't room for bugs and accidents. I was helping local security shoot up a wanted criminal the other day and was charged with aggression and immediately destroyed. Had to avoid my favorite system for an entire week.

Not controlling factions can put a bounty on your head, and thus youare not wanted in the system.

It happans to me from time to time, im hostile with the pirate faction in my bountyhunt system, and they just put a price on my head.

Maybe you didn't wait until your scan was finished? I am not saying that bugs don't exist, and if they happen you should report them.

I have had bugs on scanning NPC's before and got a fine/bounty for attacking them but not had it happen since 2.1

Also it's really easy to clip System Security with MC rounds, splash damage from missiles etc. Then they get super annoyed at the scratches on their energy shields and take you down. Could have been that?
