*wanted* in lesti

ive been trolling known pirate sites looking for a fight. yesterday I trolled lessti/diso/zaonce. I was attacked at one point at least once in each (all by players).
In lessti, I was pounced by an anaconda and two vultures. Since it wasn't a fight I had high odds of winning, I decided to practice my "flee" tactics ... pop chaff, hit SCBs, let the turrets do their work, and hit SC as soon as the FSB cooled down. (as an amusing side note, I caught a TON of from the pirates ... shut down or 'ye dead, let us pick the meat off your pretty anaconda, and then as it's clear they're not getting me "aww, come on. This just isn't fun!" -- probably thought I was being a , reality was I was too busy to chat).
.
Anyway, that's all I did. Turrets were set to attack my target. I didn't drop out of SC, so never once went to the station. But I go there last night, and now a big "wanted" sign lights up under my noise signature. This is a new thing for me. I'm assuming I did something that caused the locals to get cranky? I notice I have a 100cr fine somewhere -- I forgot to jot down where I got it, but I'm assuming somehow it was in lesti, but it didn't say what it was FOR.
.
I'm assuming the best course is to just stay out of this system.. how long will I be "wanted," and can I pay off the fine without getting blasted at a station? and how can I figure out *why* I'm wanted?

.
sorry for the noob questions, I've been exploring/trading for ages, I've barely scratched the surface on combat.

Hi! Just go to any station and pay off the bounty. It'll cost you twice its value to pay off. Usually the bounty is 200Cr, so 400Cr. If you go somewhere small, or to an Outpost rather than a big station, you won't get attacked (much!?) on the way to pay it off. Once it's cleared, you're back to clean again.

Read the changelogs for V1.3 which will be out next week sometime. Bounties will be persistent.

Oh, what you probably did was shot one of the pirates before they shot you. If they are "clean" and you shoot them, you are flagged as a criminal, hence the bounty. :)

I'm kinda struck by a strange oxymoron: you're a noob in an anaconda?????? :) Can you not just pay off the fine at an adjoining system where you are not wanted? - pay off fed fines in independent etc etc.
Out of curiosity, what class of Conda did you take in to fight these 'witty' bad boys? I reckon the best way to combat them would be to prepare your own comeback of stunning wit and repartee. Something like, "Kiss me big fat Conda wideload you losers!"

Im a COMBAT noob. big difference. As I said in the OP, I've spent all my time in here exploring and trading. Haven't really seen combat since my eagle.
Yes, I can pay it off, I was just curious what the heck I did, to garner "wanted" and a whopping 100 cr fine.

The conda is fairly well set up. 7a sheidls, beam turrets, and a few gimbled weps up front. Love the response BTw.
