Newcomer / Intro Wanted level (dormant)

What does this mean when my wanted level has (dornmant) around it ? Does a KWS still work on me or am i ok

"Dormant" means that there's still a warrant out for you, but it's inactive because the faction who issued it think that you're dead or otherwise uncollectable.

I suspect that you won't show up as wanted, though I haven't tested it. What does your cockpit readout show? There should be an indicator if you're wanted in your current location.

If you get another bounty (possibly fine), this one will "reawaken" as they realize you escaped alive. Otherwise, it wears off over time I believe, if nose is kept clean for a while!

I had a local one in a system and was destroyed. I saw the dormant status and then one day it disappeared. So it is possible it goes away after time. I went back the the same system and did not see it either.

Addendum: it will also be active again if you are scanned by the faction that issued the dormant bounty. Fly safe!

So if I obtain a fine in some distant independent system, no need to bother paying it?

I checked this when destroyed and my credits did not go down. So no, I did not have to pay it.

Thanks becuase this one is 7k fine lol and i only have 5k on me
It may have went dormant when my game crashed

Just had this issue.

Sorted it out by killing a 'clean' which then allowed me to pay off the dormant bounty and of course the new one for murder :S
