Wanted state from unscanned ship & assisted ring rock visualization

Hi, I'd really like to know what you guys think on these, I'll try to be brief.

1. I've farmed some RES in a system and got myself hostile with some minor faction => they attack me on sight and appear red instantly on my scanner. It seems silly that I'm still allowed to shoot them only after I've scanned them or they've start shooting me.
It's as if my wanted status is controlled by my ship.

Solution: Have the wanted status of a ship I've started shooting be immediately obtained if it hasn't been, then act accordingly (as now)

2. The "night" cycle in RES makes ring rocks almost impossible to always spot - everything is black, and the way to notice them is if something occludes a big region of stars. I hope that's not a game mechanic.

Solution: Have unlit pixels of of the rocks in the pixel shader be drawn instead with some unsaturated solid color. It is super simple to make.
Make it a toggle-able mode.

P.S - Awesome game, loving every bit !

1. Wanted status IS controlled by your ship. As in, without your ship, you would have no way of knowing if a target is wanted. There is no magical omniscience in ED, hold your fire and scan first. You don't see cops shooting people because "they looked wanted" (ok, you do, but that's beside the point)

2. How about moving out of the shadow instead? About time a game had a proper night where you can slam into things because you can't see them. You can also turn on your headlights, which is fine for mining. I hope you're not trying to dogfight in the dark though. ;) I also hope they carry this through to planetary landings. If there's no moonlight or starlight, the night should be pitch-where-is-my-damn-torchlight-and-what-was-that-sound black.
