WANTED Status after entering station without docking permission

I've been trading - and have a universally CLEAN status.

So, I had a brainfade and entered a station without permission - I got shot to pieces and lost 900K of gold.
No problem - my fault, harsh but fair.

I re-puchased my old loadout and respawned.
I filled my cargo hold (another 900K) and attempted to leave the station. I got scanned was found to be WANTED and was shot to peices again, with another 900k loss.

I'm now down 1.8m credits - nearly two weeks of grinding effort.

I repurchased my old loadout _again_ and respawned
I double check my status - neutral across the board.
I leave the station with no cargo - get scanned - found to be clean.

I accept the the first destruction, it was my fault - but why did I have a wanted status after I had respawned the first time?

You can also check your current system status before heading closer.

After forgetting to pay a 200cr fine for dropping failed mission cargo to close to a station - I lost lakon 9 (beta 2) with 1.4ml cargo - I keep a close eue on my status and outstaning fines before undocking and on arrival in a system.

Hard lesson learnt well.

Yep.
You broke the law first by not requesting permission. So they made you a criminal, gave you a fine, and blew you up.
Then when you're back in you still have the fine to pay. The station sin't going to let you go anywhere without resolving the wanted status because of the fine.
It's extremely easy to forget.

Imagine a similar situation here...
You drive to another city, having fun, you don't notice you've been zapped by 5 speed cameras. (Entering station without permission.)
You have 15 points. 12 is the max.
The cops grab you for being a criminal and you go to court where the judge bans you from driving and imposes a fine which must be paid within 28 days. (Boom, the station blows you up.)
You think "FFSMS, I need to get home and have a beer after this nightmare".
You go outside, jump in the car, drive out of the court car park straight into the clutches of a police officer stationed there for just such a thing.
This time you're banged up for not paying the fine, driving without insurance, driving whilst license is suspended, and probably other things too.
Pew pew pew, boom a second time.

Always check the fines panel and your in-system status.

The bounty is actually a bit over the top. Dying would be enough of a penalty.

The bounty is acquired from not paying the fine in time.

You don't die, you just lose your ship.

A lot of the mechanics are to discourage certain types of behavior by players and are not really comparible to RL.

Looks like I just learned an ED lesson, and good!

Only the strong survive! Yup - I'm up for that, I've taken my lumps - I'll not get mad, I'll get even :-D

If it was only the dying, I'd be happy! It's the two 900k cargo loads that _really_ hurt!

I immediately re spawned, loaded up and headed out - no time delay.
I guess 900k is a pretty hefty loss to make for not knowing I had to pay a 200 credit fine.

I've ticketed this in case there is a bug with the time delay in paying off the fine.

I'll be checking my status before leaving dock in future.

The manual states that I should have had 24hrs to pay the fine before I became wanted. So that seems to support the fact that I may have been subject to a bug, as there was minimal delay (2 minutes or so) between my initial destruction for failing to request docking and then respawning, loading up and heading out again.

I have been a very good boy with all factions in all systems and stations I've visited. I'm an honest trader - my type 6 has no shields and no weapons. I haven't harmed a fly!

I suspect you've been hit by a dormant fine where the faction that wanted you dead believes you are dead but then as soon as that same faction scans you again the fine/bounty becomes active again.

See the manual, page 102.

I think the dormant fine is the most likely cause.

I feel for your 900k losd though. That's a tough hit early on.

OK - I though I'd try a test. I purchased a Sidey and attempted to dock without permission on purpose to see what would happen without the associated risk.

As expected, I got shot to pieces.
I respawned in a free sidey, and checked my status - CLEAN
I also had a dormant bounty of 600cr and a dormant fine of 400cr.
I paid them both off.

I flew back to the station my type6 is docked in, got scanned, no problems.
Checked my status after docking, clean, no fines no bouties.

Jumped into my Type6, loaded up and requested launch - only then did I notice that I was suddenly WANTED again - huh?
Belatedly checked status and I have a 600cr bounty issued by the federation - where the hell did _that_ come from?
I was CLEAN when I last flew the Type6, and I was CLEAN when I jumped out of the Sidey into the Type6.

Too late to re-dock, so I boosted out of the station, luckily I didn't get scanned again.

Found a federation aligned platform in a nearby system (which also showed me as WANTED), and landed successfully.
Phew! I could finally pay off the bounty right?

Nope - No fines or bounties shown, although my status is still WANTED.

If this behaviour is as designed, then it is really counter-intuitive - what do I have to do to get CLEAN again?
If I fly to the station that issued the fine/bounty, then I'm going to get shot up again losing a third 900k of cargo and incurring a third 80k insurance claim.

I've created a ticket in the hope that this is a game bug rather than behaviour-by-design

Loss of three ships and 2.7m cr is _way_ out of proportion for failing to _immediately_ pay a couple of 400/600cr fines.

in reallife i get shot in the face by cops , if i drop a tissue on the ground so it s only fair ingame ... /sarcasm off i am fine with fines wich get bountys if not paid in 24 hrs . but like it is right now its stupid and frustating (btw never happend to me , but lost ~3 mil because i am a nice guy and let my friend checkout my hotas and the game itself) . so no permission >>>>warning >>>fine>>>>24hr later turned into bounty (if not payed) maybe a temporaly denie of docking requests for this station seem legit 7 days or something like that but not death its totally anti social if iwould life in such a "world"/ universe i would pop one staion after another with something like planetcracker bombs for their behaivor ....

If your "you got shot the second time because you still had fines to pay" is correct, how come he was clean to leave the third time?
