Newcomer / Intro 'wanted' targets found in SC lost when I exit

I'm not an expert on this but I believe you won't see ships that are still in SC when you drop out. You need to interdict them to pull them out of SC first, then you will find them. I've never interdicted anyone myself but I've been dragged out of super cruise many times and its just me and the interdictor there. Hope this helps.
Fly safe CMDR.

If they exit SC on their own (not interdicted) they should leave a Low Energy Wake that you can target and drop out at the same place.

I am not sure if they are in SC myself but they disappear even if I drop out of SC rapidly & no blip to track on radar.

Supercruise and normal space are separate instances. You can't just drop out of SC, and count on being in the same instance and location as your target.

You have to either:

  • Yank them out of SC yourself with an interdictor module. This causes you to both drop out of SC into normal space in the same spot and instance, assuming you win the mini-game.
  • Target a low energy wake- and navigate to it, dropping out like you would to a space station.

Simply dropping out of SC near where the target dropped will tend not to be very helpful. Fit an interdictor to your ship, and get a little trigger happy with it, and it'll make a lot more sense :D

Be aware that interdiction is itself a hostile act, though- if you interdict a clean target, you will get a wanted tag as though you were shooting them. Pick your targets carefully.

When you say 'wanted', are you referring to a mission?

I've found that jumping back into SC, and again hitting USS's, you'll eventually end up finding him again.
However, it'll be a new instance and he'll be back to full health, and if he didn't have an escort the 1st time around, he might have one this time.

Suppose it's also possible to hit a USS, and have an NPC tell you that he left the system... I dunno, that hasn't happened to me yet.

All the above assuming you don't have a wake scanner to follow him to wherever ever he jumps.
