Wanting to buy but not sure if PC will run...

Hi, bit of a gaming noob, so sorry for disturbing! I'm after buying Planet Zoo as it looks like the type of game I'll enjoy, but I'm not sure if it will run on my computer! I've only ever played the Sims before and I've had no issues running that, although I am sure it's a much less demanding game than this one.

I searched a system requirements website and it has come back as negative, although it has plenty of green checks in all the areas so I'm a tad confused as to why it doesn't meet minimum spec.

If anyone could recommend whether or not to purchase that would be great!

Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions :)

Your PC should run it, but it's mostly likely going to be on low to medium settings. If you're buying it from Steam you are allowed 2 hours of play to get a refund. So, you could try it and see if it works, and if not just get your money back.

It should run, but really really badly. Are you on a laptop? If so, I do not think it will be playable, if you have a desktop you could maybe put in a graphics card.

I agree.. I think with the lowest setting you will be able to play but will encounter FPS problems when your zoo gets any bigger.
These specs are barely minimum.

The graphics card but also RAM 8gb is probably not good enough (also depends on the amount of programs you're running in the background)
If it's a laptop, that's a tricky one.. I'm going with just no..

Tbh Peteuplink gave a nice solution. If you refund in time, you can test this one out...

I am afraid you won't have much fun with the game on this computer when you want to
play every aspect of it.

It is quite demanding because of the thousands of guests your zoos will get, all with their own needs.

But as statet, the only way to find out is to buy and try.

When you stay with the small to medium zoos maybe you will be able to still enjoy it,
but don't expect to have huge zoos running with that hardware.

But then again, building smaller zoos in sandbox and watch the adorable animals in this game can
be fun, too 🐺

I think it should be enough, When I look at the usage it does not go above 8, and that is on ultra settings in the panda park.

Oh yeah, but thats a small park..

And if you are running on ultra, you'll probably have a more expensive video card :D

With rain and a normal park, it's a real close call.
Also depends on your regular pc speed/hard drive/cooling fan.. And the comment between the ( )

But i'm leaning towards no when you have the bare minimum..
And people with better PC's are struggling as well..

I just don't think the combination of i5 and 8gb will work.. But I could be wrong.. :D

Update:

I forgot to mention that I actually use an external hard drive also that one is 120GB which is what I usually tend to keep all my stuff on. I'm not sure that makes a difference though as I think it's my graphics that can't handle the game??

@VD97 The CPU (that also uses the intel HD u620 chip) alone will make the game unplayable, or at least better than a slideshow near lowest settings. You might get by using a lower resolution while playing but it certainly wont be ideal.
External Harddrive wont help you here as the CPU is the main bottleneck of your machine.

I'd recommend at least a 4 cores CPU with 2.66ghz or higher.
RAM @ 16GB for now.
A dedicated GPU (if on Nvidia, at least a 1050 4GB model).

What's your budget if new machine?

Yeah I didn't think it would solve the issue but wanted to mention just in case! :)

I'm not looking to buy a new machine honestly. I don't game enough to invest a lot of money on a new machine that I'll rarely use!

Thank you everyone for the responses! I would have hated to purchase it and then it not work. So I think I'm gonna avoid buying, which is a shame as it looks ace, but if my PC wont run it then thats the end of it :)
