War State & other Faction Influence movement

Ok so I'll not bother with retreating anyone from our system then, the security side of it is rather appealing now..!

I'm aware of the proximity of the above mentioned, especially the Frogs - again I'm fully aware of their current member count and my friend and I have discussed we don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes.

I saw that Cerktondhs recently went down to 6 factions, and so we started working on another system that's closer to open it up, but then we realised that was with a population in the billions so have canned that idea! We certainly have no intention of expanding into a system with another PF already present.

I'm still not convinced it's anyone else working in our system, as the big inf shifts really have only happened when a conflict state kicks off - at other times things are stable and are manageable in the direction we want.

I'm pretty certain something strange is going on when the conflict states begin.

Some really useful info above though, I appreciate the continued input!

well, if you work all factions in a system to reduce the controlling factions influence, a conflict can easily happen.
or, as pointed out, it might be deliberate - getting the one foreign faction into conflict as not to invade that faction, and taking care the slots being over the limit, todirect an expansion.

check the traffic and bounty redeems and all other reports at any station. that's very usefull info to get an idea what#s going on.

looking at the last three months of data at https://elitebgs.app/system/59e969a9d22c775be029e60f as well as the inara influence gtraph, it looks as if it is the first time your influence gets reduced since your last election (station control conflict i assume).
back then (middle september) you had actually 4 factions locked in conflict, and 1 in boom, 1 in retreat - so that would explain the "conincedence" of what looks to you samey this time.
i'd look at the economy sliders of the other factions ... if somebody works for "all other", they should move towar5ds boom.
If somebody works against you, you might find some names on the top bounty list, higher number in the crimes committed...

So after some haz res last night, I decided to go into open to see if anyone was about, and I was leaving the station, this guy waltzed right in with his Python. I'm only assuming here, but he's trading and quite possibly doing missions that end up giving LHS some INF.

<<<Damn, tried to upload a screenshot but it's not working for some reason. He's a Novice commander in a Python>>>

I also looked at the traffic report and we do have a number of ships passing through - it's not quite the backwater i imagined it to be after all.

So I think you're right in that outside influences are at play, but I'm not convinced they have dark motives.

i guess most here went by the description of backwater system; but when that was cleared up, random traffic can account for all you are experiencing.
still i recommend getting in touch with your neighbours, it's just good style as a "newcomer" :)

Well "backwater" is open to interpretation I suppose :)

I'm going to lock up that LHS Faction in conflict as it seems there are lots of missions for them, even internal delivery missions, argh!

And yes, I'll add that to the to-do list.

Thanks for all the input mate - good man.

...and we lost another 1% despite doing over 20 high INF missions, 12 million in trading, and 16 million in bounties.

What can you do, hey <shrug>
