War thunder.... Anyone here play it?

I was surprised to not find a WT thread...... (I did a search)

I have apparently put over 60hrs into it, and still not spent a penny on it, so figure I owe them some cash - but still want to maximise the value of course.

I definitely want the single player campaign (I take it the pacific is the only one?)

but can anyone tell me, am I reading it wrong because

I was considering buying the gaijin online ultra advanced pack for 80 euros

However s far as i can see you get WAY better value if you buy the

Warthunder steam pack ($24) and then supplement it if you want with the steam Ace Advanced pack ($40)

the gaijin online pack is more expensive, gives you 10K gold eagles, 2 months premium and 5 unique planes, as well as the pacific campaign

Doing the 2 steam packs not only saves you cash, but gives

11.7K gold eagles, 3 months premium & 5 unique planes as well as the pacific campaign

the only difference with the steam packs is you get a P-36A bonus plane instead of the FW190 D-13

My only decision is whether to wait until there is a steam special offer.

any thoughts?

Thanks

I hate Steam, that;s my thought, don't give them money.

I played it for a while, got bored of planes and am now playing in the Ground Forces beta at first glance it appears to be better than World of tanks, but after playing for a while i'm bored again, been playing WoT for three years and it keeps me coming back, weird.

Its weird i love flight sims and ive flown a few missions and it feels great but so far havent spent any money on it because the payment options are a tad confusing bewildering im still not really sure about this free to play pay for planes model. May see if there is a good review of the campaigns. I had all the il2 releases though bought them cheap.
Also i have to snatch time to play where i can and 10 minute waits to start playing is too long.

if you want to play sim mode the wait is a little tiresome. Arcade battles is almost instant however if you only have a spare 15 mins

becasue they are only realistic battles, it limits what side you can fight on. I find you will get a game quicker if you go the japanese

70+hrs into it so far and still not paid a penny but as soon as their is an offer, either saving on buying a pack OR in game offer like the 20% off one 2 weeks ago, then I will bite as i kind of owe them.

Well in WoT you are much more at the mercy of the RNG... since they want you to buy premium ammo. "did not penetrate" "did not penetrate" "did not penetrate"

I think WT has the potential to be much better than the wargaming stuff, but its just not refined yet.

Aye, I still play it from time to time, but all the changes to the RB mode drove me away. Now it is just a glorified arcade mode. :(

You can look up my stats in game - Khavi -.

Or just watch a few of my WT videos...like this one.
