Warehousing anyone?

Each player account should have access to a universal warehousing “entity”. This NPC organization will facilitate our storage, distribution (drop shipping) and selling of items we acquire while exploring. This will also enable player to player transactions… we could sell weapons, cheaper commodities or even mission items to each other.

Another interesting idea from the forum! I hope the Dev team pick up on some of these. I find that anything suggested on these forums normally receives equal measures of support and resistance from the community. But any constructive thinking should be encouraged. I wonder where we'll be in a years time.

Would be nice. At this time, I 'd be happy with the ability to move cargo from one ship to another so I can change ships if the one I am changing to has the same or better cargo capacity.

Also, the ability to buy an upgrade module, specifically the FSD, for another ship, store it in the hold and fit it to the other ship when I get there. I currently have a Type 7, (seriously, a trading ship with a miniscule jump range like that as standard?) that's going nowhere fast simply because I need a better FSD with more range to get it to a high tech system to buy a better FSD. Two high tech systems that are within range don't sell them . My other ship that can jump 3 times as far uses a smaller FSD so I can't even check if a system sells the bigger ones. It's totally stupid that we have no idea if a given system has what we want. Unless we fit the item we need to begin with, we can't get to the systems that sell the item we need. Right now, it is stuck in a 50 system or so radius where I bought it, every system outside of that is further than the ship can jump, even stripped right down. To add injury to that, I don't even have a clue where I can buy the FSD I need because I don't have a ship large enough to use one of that size except the one I want it for.

When I played X3, one of the best ships could only be purchased in a remote system. This ship took special ammunitions, and the factories making that ammunition would frequently go bankrupt due to the system's isolation. I often bought a fleet of freighters to park and use as munition wearhouses to ensure I would have continued access to this resource.

Warehousing sounds great. I'd also like there to be a shuttle service that we can pay for to take us to other systems where our ships might be parked (or to go to a system and purchase a ship there).
