Wares costs and the underlying trade model for distant stations

Does anyone do regular trade trips to stations/outposts that are far away (~100,000Ls say) from the star? Have they noticed a price advantage to making the trip?

If not then the underlying trade model does not take account of distance. If I put on my logistics hat on from my knowledge about the real world, any goods being transported to remote islands/villages always are more expensive. That is because of fuel costs and the additional time staff (labour cost) spend in transporting the goods has to be calculated in order for a business to be profitable. So in ED to make trips to remote outposts profitable wares in those places should command a much higher price. In RL, an increase of 100-300% is quite common. For ED I propose the percentage increases should be even higher and should be proportional to the distance of the outpost from the star where you arrive.

The trade model is thoroughly mullered anyway. Supply and demand economics do not exist in the year 3301. I can supply the same station for days on end when it already had a low demand, the demand does not decrease and the price stays the same. The price should drop on demand but it doesnt.

Edit: oh, and no it makes no difference if it is 100000Ly away.

I used to visit a station that was a 15min SC from the main star, the station was part of 7 stop route in my T9. Whilst that stop was not efficient, the profits & stock would be very high due to virtually nobody else going there.

I take it the price difference wasn't big enough to take account of distance?
