Warhammer 40k Eternal Crusade

It's been a bit silent about this for a while, but finally has arrived on Steam Early Access. There is the ambition to become something to the scale of PlanetSide 2, for the time being it resembles a Battlefield-style game. That said, I've been in the game for some time now and it is great fun, if you like either Battlefield or Space Marine (or both, of course), you should really check this out.

On a slightly selfish note, if you do decide to get the game, you can use a referral code for 4000 points for the store when you register the game on a new account; the game uses the Guild Wars 2 B2P + shop for cosmetics, character slots etc. model, no P2W there. My code is

Code:
EC-CBUXSFY4UGIDV

(Disclosure: by using a referral code, the one who gave the code also gets some points at set numbers of referrals. It's a win-win situation for both sides. :))

Also, here's a fan-made video (not mine) with some nice 80s music which shows actual gameplay:

No, it is 3rd person only. FYI, some of the game mechanics rely on this, for example taking cover at a door and then aiming/peeking around the corner, so 1st person would put you at a serious disadvantage. Also, I could not ever imagine doing melee combat like this in 1st person. (FYI, I prefer 3rd person over 1st person, because you see your character and the animations, so I don't see any of this as a downside.)

The best way to see if you may enjoy the gameplay anyway, is to try the Space Marine demo. The view and handling are similar in principle.

Thanks for the info, I've played space marine and couldn't get on with the view. 3rd person games always break my immersion unfortunately. I just can't suspend disbelief whilst looking at my own rear end (no matter how well rendered the armour), which is a shame as mass effect and dead-space are perfect for me otherwise and I'm a proper fan-boy for W40K.

For any other 1st person addicts there's another W40K game coming up which is 1st person Death Wing : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YROOgLD-wtU
