Sounds like there is a simple solution to this problem... corvette is slow.... run away. If you are in a Conda or T9 then 4 pips to shields and high wake.

Flying a Python I can outrun them, but between mass lock and losing 600mg shields in 4 seconds and FSD module failure due to HEAVY fire and likely Pulse Disruptor special weapon. Likely chance getting blown away high.
Lost 2 Pythons, thankfully no cargo both times.

It does bring up an interesting question of local police and this being home world, why did game not issue local support?
